Formani makes door, window and cabinet hardware like you haven't seen before, working with notable designers to create new shapes and contemporary profiles. We asked Formani to tell us more about what makes their designs special.
What sets Formani apart from other brands in the business of fixtures and fittings?
Formani has fully comprehensive ranges of award-winning door, window and cabinet hardware which provides the architect or designer with a seamless continuous style from the front door right through the whole house on doors, windows and furniture. We even have bathroom fittings. We have a huge choice of shapes and styles that mix and match within many of the ranges and exciting new ranges that are up-and-coming cutting edge design.
What’s been your most popular collection to date?
In the UK, Formani Piet Boon ranges in stainless, black, white and wood finishes are proving very popular for modern projects and the classic Bauhaus-inspired Timeless ranges in nickel and un-lacquered brass are also popular on projects needing a more enduring and classic look. We have the look for every style of project.
Where can we see Formani products? What are some of the notable projects where they have been specified?
Formani products are represented in 33 countries worldwide and have been used on state-of-the-art private residential dwellings in many countries, from South Africa through Asia to New Zealand. These photo shoots can be seen in the beautiful images of the latest catalogue, which you can download from www.formani.co.uk. Hard copies can always be sent out to customers and will be available on stand N60 at the May Design Series. Formani has been used in London projects and is available from prestigious hardware retailers throughout the UK; go to the website to find one in your area or ring Formani UK direct to enquire.
You’ve worked with some notable designers. How do you select your collaborators?
Formani works in collaboration with designers who deliver exciting new designs for the hardware industry. This has brought international acclaim; we won the coveted Red Dot Design Award for the Tord Boontje Fold handle, which has a completely unique and versatile new way of attaching to the door.
What’s next for Formani – what are you working on at the moment?
Formani is constantly working on new ranges to keep producing fresh new designs.
What will you be bringing to the May Design Series this year?
We are exhibiting for the first time ever in London this year at May Design Series and we will showing stainless, black, white and wood Piet Boon ranges of handles as well as Piet Boon bathware.
We are also showing the award-winning unique handle Fold, and Timeless handles in nickel and brass finishes for that iconic classic look. Last but not least, there will be two brand new ranges which will have their world premiere in London this year.
